Welcome to The Calder School
The focus of our little school remains on the children. 2023-2024 registration still open for a few limited spots
1) Implementing and strengthening their core fundamentals
2) Building their social interactions
3) Developing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
We're a mix of Montessori, Waldorf and Forest schools centered around the Ontario Curriculum for ages 2 1/2 years to Grade 5
Our three-step approach is :
1) Individualized curriculum
2) Two- three hours of daily outside time
3) Small teacher-child ratio’s

Rebecca Calder
Principal and owner
Passion for teaching
Rebecca or Ms Calder as she is more affectionately known has been running Calder School for the past 15 years.
She went to school for Biological Anthropology and is a certified Montessori teacher.
She is married to Nick and together they have eight mostly adorable children from ten to twenty-six years old, and 2 dogs.

Fantastic with kids
Tara has worked for Calder School for the past 10 years. She has 22 years experience in the Montessori classroom.
She adores the little world she's created with her husband and two children.
She enjoys spending time nurturing her bee hives and gardening.
Kailey Mitchell
Teaching Assistant
Brilliant and creative
Kailey has been with us since 2021! She is the oldest of three children and loves shopping, snowboarding, and going to the lake. Kailey loves working at Calder school because of the positive and empathetic atmosphere!
